Comparing Database Records

The DBS Record Viewer option displays a side-by-side comparison of the selected database record in the primary and replicated services.

Note: The ReplValidator utility is only available to compare DBS-type services (ACS, APPS, AUD, BSS, DDS, ELS, ELSALM, FAC, GNS, GRP, MSS, NOTE, PNT, TRS, and VHS). See the note about validating the VHS.

To View DBS Records for a Service Pair

  1. Highlight the record in which you are interested in the lower pane of the utility’s main screen.
  2. Select Tools > DBS Record Viewer or click DBS record view (DBS Record Viewer) on the toolbar to open the View Primary/Repl Record dialog box.
  3. The selected record will appear in the title bar of the DBS Record Viewer.
  4. Click Refresh to display the primary and replicated values for the record.
  5. Scroll down to compare any inconsistencies in the two records. Ideally, the records should be identical.
  6. Click Close to exit the View Primary/Repl Record dialog box.
